I have LTA component of my salary 0 but I have LTC exemption claim of about 20000 in my form-16. Cleartax website is not allowing the LTC exemption to be more than LTA component of salary. I do have special allowances of about 5 lakhs. Do I have to remove my LTC exemption claim? Or can I put some of the special allowance money in LTA component and go ahead?

You can report Rs. 20,000 as LTA received during the year by reducing it from special allowance. This will allow you to claim the exemption. For professionally assisted filing of ITR you can connect with us at ca.pujasharma@outlook.com or https://pujasharma.associates/

Hi, I declared HRA exemption while submitting declaration to my company. However, for proofs I only have rental agreement and rent receipts (my company demands just these 2 as proofs). I dont have financial proofs of payments. Should I transfer a lumpsum amount for rent paid from April to December this year as well, or would monthly transfers from January to March be sufficient?

Hi, I haven't applied/filed for Form 16, as my corporate paid income tax on my behalf, in the past years. Do you still recommend me to file my income tax? If yes, why? Thanks, in advance.

If your income earned during the year FY 2020-21 exceeds Rs. 2,50,000 then you are required to file IT return in India. Further, if TDS have been deducted by your employer on your salary income, then IT return filing is mandatory to claim the refunds of excess tax amount paid.
